Position: Recreation Program Coordinator

In this role, you will plan, promote, administer, and evaluate various year-round recreational programs catering to all age groups.

Responsibilities:

As the Recreation Program Manager, you will oversee a diverse array of department programs, including but not limited to:

  • Youth Programs
  • Senior Programs
  • Adult Programs
  • Special Events
  • Facility Reservations (5 Parks, Senior Center, and other Borough Facilities)

Your role will involve planning, promoting, and administering these programs to ensure the community's year-round engagement. You will also be responsible for evaluating program effectiveness and making necessary improvements.  You will also serve as the Borough’s liaison to the Recreation Commission, Dunellen Arts & Culture Commission, and the Dunellen Municipal Alliance.

Experience:

  • Prior experience in recreation management, with a minimum of Three (3) years in a similar role.
  • A four-year degree in a relevant field, such as Recreation Management, Sports Management, or a related discipline, may be substituted for three (3) years of the above experience.

We seek an experienced Administrative Support Specialist to join our team and contribute to our mission of providing exceptional service to the general public. In this role, you will be pivotal in supporting various offices, including the Borough Administrator and Borough Clerk, by performing a wide range of administrative support functions and other tasks as directed by the Administrator.

Responsibilities:

As an Administrative Support Specialist, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing and coordinating schedules for various offices
  • Assisting in issuing marriage licenses and certificates, death certificates and birth certificates
  • Serving as the front line of public inquiries, providing assistance and information to residents and visitors
  • Collecting and analyzing data for administrative decisions
  • Conducting general administrative clerical and related work
  • Assisting designated phases of clerical and related work, such as maintaining financial records, making purchases, assisting in accounts payable, compiling statistical data, etc.
  • Checking and approving invoices and vouchers
  • Collecting and depositing money
  • Assisting in drafting proposed ordinances and/or resolutions

Experience:

  • Three (3) years of experience in clerical work
  • Successful completion of a two-year college-level course in secretarial science may be substituted for two (2) years of the above experience.
